On March 1st 2023, Lana Del Rey was the guest of honor at the Billboard’s Women in Music event and received a Visionary Award, presented by Olivia Rodrigo. At the red carpet, she was seen wearing a springy, midi length, sheer, yellow dress. The dress featured sheer detailing, paisley print, floral appliques and a high neckline. Lana included her own touches to the dress by adding a pale, yellow belt and some golden, open toe heeled sandals. The dress is retailed at $3,150 on Saks Fifth Avenue’s website. She paired the outfit with her signature winged eyeliner, gold tones on the eyes and a nude lip.
After attending her best friend Victoria Kofoed’s wedding, the singer had copied her bridal dress, a yellow Zimmerman wedding dress. On her private Instagram account on March 6th 2023, she uploaded a side by side photo, showing her and her best friend wearing the same dress. The artist captioned it, “I promised my Bestie, that if I got to wear the same dress she wore for her wedding that I would do a side-by-side, I couldn’t quite do her justice, but I needed an excuse to post her beautiful wedding pictures anyways, congratulations, Vic.”
Lana Del Rey is no stranger to dressing in vintage dresses. The high neckline and long sleeves were similar to a retro 50s dress, and she even had a bouffant hairstyle and simple makeup to match it. In 2019, she wore a lilac and knee length dress that was very similar to the one she wore now. People say the singer has always been and always will be the queen of retro dresses.
Del Rey co-wrote “Snow on the Beach” with producer Jack Antonoff for the song. At a recent interview with Billboard, she said she was asked to sing a verse, but didn’t know she was “the only feature.”
The singer explained: “Had I known, I would have sung the entire second verse like she wanted. My job as a feature on a big artist’s album is to make sure I help add to the production of a song, so I was more focused on the production.”
In the end Lana Del Rey said she “really liked” how the song turned out and insisted that Taylor was “very adamant that she wanted me to be on the album.”
Those weren’t the only big events to do with Lana this month, the singer got engaged to Artist-Manager Evan Winiker. She was spotted wearing a diamond ring on the red carpet at the Billboard. Their relationship has been kept rather private so it’s uncertain when their relationship began. Over the past few months, they have been spotted together multiple times, including at the Malibu Chili Cook-Off in September, and dining in San Bernardino at a restraint earlier in March, per Billboard.
